G'day Lazy,

just got in.
Finished with 2 silver rings, one junk ring although it appears to be engraved, will check it out in the morning and $9.80 in coins.
One of the rings is Mexican silver and the other is a spinner.
I think those 2 bays are pretty well done now!
Will try further up next time I hit there.
Can't help with your problem, its new to me.
Good luck and best wishes.

Lou.

i"m glad to hear ya got some more loot  i think i"m going to invest in a wetsuit soon i"m getting soft in my old age  i reckon it"d be hard to find even a pull tab down there the next person to go detecting there will have slim pickings i found quite a bit of silver & one gold round that side good luck hope ya find the big one.
i"m going to hit some other spots hopefully this weekend might go to black rock beach haven't been there for ages.

Mate, if you think you were cold tonight then just wait till you spend 2 or 3 hours wading around good ol Port Phillip Bay!
Black Rock eh?
Almost tempted to come down to see what shade of blue you end up ... lol.

Lou

Well done on the ring,
I'd say you might have metal on your body/shoes that might be getting picked up by the coil? Could be the connection as well.

Gidday mate, nice one! Lets have those settings and see if we can get that hummer calmed down some. What Excal, I or II? May need to try Pinpoint, as another option too, as I hear down unda is highly mineralized and could be causing some issues. Keep 'em comin'!

the only metal i had on me were my keys around my neck & if the excal"s that good i might have to trade to a more useless detector  i thought it may be my scoop so i pulled it behind me it still sounded of.
Gulf Hunter i had it at 1 disc - sens about half - vol full - thresh at just able to hear & in disc it started to get bad in some mushy mud it got a little better in the sand also it was in fresh water.
i"m hopefully going out this weekend to a salt water beach & i"ll let ya know if it continues to happen thanks.

Mate,

Are you sure it was'nt your battery running out of puff?
It makes a loud hi lo sort of sound every 30 or so seconds for quite a while before it gives up the ghost.
Just a thought.
Got in there again tonight.
One 9ct ring with a solitary diamond, I hope.
2 silver rings and a heavy silver necklace...Italian.
One ring that looks silver with onyx stone but its stamped 13 KRGP or something like that... its hard to make out.
$21.15 in coins.
Will look for a change of scenery tomorrow.
Good luck in the bay.

Lou.

maybe ? but i did charge it the night before for about 8-9 hours i"ll turn it on & see if it does it now-nah doesn't do it now ? i"ll see what it dose on the weekend.
your doing well down there was that round the corner from were we were hunting.
i"v got a list of beaches to hunt it"s about a mile long  it"s hard to pick witch one to detect i"ll have to do some sweet talking to the boss first though.

When I was using the WOT on my Sov (effectively the same machine as the excal) for water hunting, it would pick up my scoop every once and a while, so I slung it over my shoulder when I wasn't using it.

thanks i"ll give it a try. i"v got a 15 wot on my explorer II & i had trouble with it picking up the eyelets on my shoes thankfully it didn't take to long to figure that one out
