Excal headphones

What an amazing difference these make compared to the stock Excal headphones...the audio now has greater clarity and detail.
I hooked them up today (very easy procedure) after Minelab fitted them out with the complete end cap assembly.
I've got this sneaky feeling that the stock phones weren't operating quite right as the audio sounded really muffled.

Hopefully they want float off when submerged...:ranting:

They look like the Gray Ghost Originals and I didn't think they were waterproof and good for beach hunting, but not diving.I believe Gray Ghost makes headphones for diving too, but thought they look different.

do u run the volume wide open, if i do, all my sounds are muffled too, but i never run wide open...........tooo loud for me

Some of my river detecting stirs up quite a lot of fine silt which envelops everything. Yesterday when I removed my blue Excal headphones I decided to give them a serious freshwater cleanup by constantly submersing them and gently squeezing all of the air out of the ear cups and then letting them refill.
Well there was a considerable amount of really fine gunk that I managed to flush out after about 10 dunkings. I guess it had set hard inside the earcups somewhere and must have been causing audio problems (not electrical). They are now totally clean as they are now my backup pair.
There was no fine beach sand inside them as this flushes out with normal use. I'll be rinsing the new phones seriously after any river hunts.

my stock yellow head phones on my brand new 1000 have failed already !!!, BRAND NEW just removed from the box used for a 7 day Ibiza holiday and the ear pads keep coming off, one has split inside the foam cup and to cap it all the bloody thing didnt function very well !!!!!!!!!! :ranting:
it had no threashold tone and little depth !!
its now gone off for repair to minelab ireland (who i must say )have always given me brilliant service in the past .:clapping: (see how it goes )
This just isnt good enough for a detector costing almost
