Excal falsing ?

alton

New member
I'm posting this for a friend of mine and I haven't seen this problem in person.

He claims his machine after he gets knee deep in water begans to give a false signal like he has hit a target on each swing. Sometimes he says it does it just holding it in the air. He hip mounts it.

He can get it to stop by putting Disc on 3. I'm not sure what Sens. is from his explanation but I think he might use "auto" most of the time.

He sent it back to Minelab and they sent it back and said there was nothing wrong with it.

My guess is that he has a cable that is not secured. However, I'm still new to this unit myself.

Have any of you ran into this before or have any ideas how to fix it?

TIA
Alton

My Excal falses in the salt water and I usually tweek the sensitivity and it goes completely away. I like to tune it so it is barely falsing everyonce in a while and it seems to be on the best edge of it's performance. On some beaches it does not happen at all. I have also been on beaches were it happens in certain areas of the water and not in others.
