excal discrimination

Wondering , what is the highest discrimination you guys use , when hunting trashy fresh water beaches in shallow water , with the excalibur ? - mike

I dont touch the disc knob ever,it stays at lowest setting always as it greatly increases your chances of finding gold... I hunt in disc mode.. if by trash you mean tiny bits of foil you may want to try that spot after a wind driven storm as it can wash away some small lightweight debris if they are close to the surface. .. as far as pulltabs and canslaw the easiest way around them is straight thru them... good luck.

I agree......leave it as low as you can. It hates iron. If you moved it..... can you tell me where small gold came in? I even hunt in PP mod and reverse disc..... just separates better .. bit deeper and not recovery time between beeps.

I take the discrimination knobs off all my Ecals and leave it set at zero...yep, no discrimination ever and no chance of me accidentally turning it when hunting in the water after dark.

I always hunt with the lowest discrimination setting, I also hunt in PP mode and reverse discrimination, have the PP mod on the hand grip.
