excal battery rebuild

I have 2 aftermarket excallibur nihm batteries from the guy that sells them on %$^ . They lasted less than 2 years . Im thinking some cells are good , others not . Has anyone ever taken 2 battery packs apart to rebuild 1 good one , by voltmeter testing and resoldering good ones ? What is a good after market long lasting battery for the excal ? Where do I purchase ? Are they Lithium ? - thanks

Mike, compared with a Sovereign GT recharger battery pack at 106.00 the Excalibur battery is a good deal. MY suggestion buy a new pack, which there isn't that much to save money by rebuilding your own. I've seen too many people get the basics wrong with a reverse negative and positive lead and damage their circuit board. I just picked an older Excal up and have been pricing out batteries I'll probably go somewhere in the mid price range area. IMHO too much work and no money saved. Good Luck.

Correct, you can buy a new battery for $59.99 and just swap out the one you have with a brand new one. You should be getting more than 2 years on a battery too. Are you over charging them? if your using the stock charger then 16 hours is the max you should ever leave it on charger, over charging will destroy the batter over time.

The RB Innovations EX-3000 is the best battery for the Excal I have ever used. Well worth the $69.99 plus it comes with its own charger too. I average 60 hrs on a single full charge....
