Excal battery pod question?

I posted earlier about the battery leaking on my 1000. Just noticed that the end cap with the O ring is cracked in 2 places. Is there anywhere that I can just buy the end cap, or do I have to get a whole new pack? And if so, does the excal 11 pack fit the same?

I called ML today, & they said I'd have to send it in, & the cost would be around $100. I would probably just buy a new one first at 165. I'll just use this for awhile & try not to get it dunked.

Minelab doesn't do parts......at least not with you or I. Anything you get would have to be through a dealer and, if I remember correctly, Minelab makes dealers do parts kits. I suspect the only thing a dealer would be willing to sell you is a complete pod assembly, probably including the rechargeable battery, unless it was an alkaline pod. I've got the same issues. My alkaline pod cap is beginning to crumble, and the body of my "sword" Excal has several "somewhat more than hairline" cracks, thanks to the jackasses at a particular airline. I'm hoping I can come up with a way to coat the outer surface of the pod to solidify it's integrity, so that I have at least two viable packs. Potentially, I could take the cap from the "sword" pack, and use it on the alkaline pod. It's unlikely I'll ever go beyond neck deep. Fortunately, the pod from my 1000 series is in good shape, although I'm about to put in new cells.

You could probably coat the pod with epoxy. Also, check the Excal accerries sticky in this forum as I posted a bunch of links to such topics like end caps and pod repair and such. Also search this forum for "Excalibur, Battery, Pod" ALL WORDS ANY DATE, and do the same search in the modifications forum as there have been numerous threads on this stuff.
