Excal at the beach

Been trying to use the Excal as much as possible to try to learn the tones from it. Sure is a change from the Gt to the Excal due to the difference in headphones.

I went to the beach on Saturday. Dug up 5 bucks in clad and the usual assortment of lincolns/zincs. Was back to my starting point when I decided to detect down the beach just a little farther before I left for the day. Had not gone 30 yards when a group of people walked to about 30 feet in front of me and set up housekeeping or whatever they want to call it. I walked around them and got a target.
A neat little ring came out of the sand. I thought that would be a good way to end the day with a .925 ring.

Decided yesterday that I needed more time with the Excal so back to the beach I went. Tried an area where there are usually a lot of folks (potential donors) and spent a couple of hours. Targets were scarce. I did find one ladies ear ring. It does not have a hallmark but came out of the sand nice and shiny and does have some weight to it. I changed locations on the beach and stayed till just before dark. Added $11.50 to my clad collection but did not find any more jewelry.

Nice rings, it's good to find targets better than clad. I always hope to find enough change to make up for the $5 I put in the parking meter. Thanks for the pictures.

Nice Italian wedding rings nomally there are gold silver and copper i dug one a few years ago at the beach 1 is 925 1 is copper and the 3rd has no mark . Good finds . Jim

I smell gold in your near future...looks like you've been hittin it hard.... the gold has to be running out of places to hide....good luck....

I like the Sov for when the water is to ruff to get in. I think after you learn the tones you will find the Xcals to be more defined and easily recognized for several targets. The Xcal is just better on bottle caps too.... they null and sputter much better than on my Sov. Nice finds...... congrats.

Those Excal headphones leave a lot to be desired for sure. I recently glued a pair of gel pads on mine and they improved the sound and feel.
