Is anyone out there using the Anderson Over Under shaft on their Excalibur. If so I would love to know what you think of it. Im using the stock S shaft and hate it.

Hello, yes i have the over under shaft on my Excal II, I ordered it when i bought the Excal i have put in 6-8hr days and I,m fine. If you are thinking about getting it i would say yes also look at the one piece shaft that mounts the unit above your arm, I want to try that one out but a have spent enough money for now...If you are new to the Excal get the Ear Training CD and some of Clive's books.......HH

The Anderson shaft is good and so is the others that are available.

Makes me wonder why Minelab did not change the shaft design to make it more ergonomic.

I found the factory shaft was way too front heavy and made swinging the Excalibur unpleasant. The foam grip was hoaky and would come loose.

I also can swing my Excalibur for 8 to 10 hours and not get tired with the new straight shaft. Well worth the modification.

I got one of pluggers, (behind arm cuff) great balance, price, fast delivery too, checkout his ebay ID (rods_by_plugger)
I got the 2 piece travel rod,no wobble between rods, arrived in 6 days(USA to spain) delighted with it

I bought the over / under direct from Anderson. I do have one of Clives books..(the newest one). I am finding that the Excalibur settings are more complicated to get right than programming the Flight Management System (FMS) on a 747-400!!

I have been working at making sense of both of Clive's Excalibur books and I'm thinking that the audio recording offered elsewhere may fill in some of the gaps!!

Each person's perception and experience of the signal responses will be limited by that persons ability to detect the mentioned variations in sound.

Some of us are less able to detect these subtle fluctuations than others.

This is where understanding ones machine becomes an art-form!

Having the sound via the recording to compare to as an adjunct to the written word will help many people to better make sense of the nuances of sound described in the writing of the more adept hunters among us.

This is the next thing I will explore to develop my understanding of this wonderful machine!!

GL&HH Friend,

CJ
