Excal and PI Gold...

Craig-PI

New member
I hooked up with LouCt this morning to hunt the wet sand as it was too wet and windy to work today... We both found gold today :) Lou used my Excalibur and found the 14k wedding band and the merc dime plus the other stuff on the right side of the picture...

I used my PI in the wet sand and found that tiny 14k ring that I have sitting on top of the dime on the left side of the picture...

We only hunted for about 2 hours as it was very windy a couple of the gusts moved me and I had to hunt with the wind to my back so I my glasses weren't sandblasted by the blowing sand...

I weighed my ring and it weighs 2/10th's of a gram lol....

Craig were you using the goldquest.(do you have the ssv2 verison)
Dont forget to give us some reports between the whites and the goldquest

The PI coins look like they were really deep (the PI Pro does hit on the small gold)! WTG and congrats to both of you with gold finds!!!

HH!!!

It's think it's amazing to find such small gold rings ..when you look at the areas we hunt..and the amount of trash out there
I have found a few ...but they have to be on or near the surface with the Excal

Guess the PI works well on the small gold..Nice digs Craig

Not necessaryilt mate! I have found some unbelieveably thin ones and they were down at about a scoop. She'll git 'er done mate!

I have to be honest with you Skully.. I prefer the PI over the Excalibur... don't get me wrong the Excal has its place hunting where there is a huge amount of iron but I only have 2 beaches like that whether it be wet sand or water.. My PI is deeper than my Excal so I am going to use it more than the Excal.. Our beaches up here for years have been hit in and out of the water with PI machines and there really isn't a ton of iron trash... I dig just as much trash with the Excal as I do with my PI as its mainly aluminum... All my hunting buddies run PI's or if its a iron infested beach run the CZ20... In my group I'm the only one with an Excalibur...
