excal after market shaft.

balance................If its set up right you can hunt all day with the right swing. Its a heavy machine but all that seems to disappear when you get it balanced just right.

that curved handle on the stock shaft just makes it very uncomfortable after awhile, the straight shaft will allow you to hunt much longer, add a chest mount assy or a hip mount assy and youll love that excal a whole lot better..:clapping:

I 2nd the Plugger 3 piece travel shaft. It is wobble free with the ability to easily break down to fit in the trunk of a small auto. I reverse mounted the Excal on the right side and the battery on the left. This places the mode switch in the forward position making it very easy to switch back and worth between AM and discriminate and eliminates the need for a knob guard.

I just got a plugger 1 piece shaft, behind the elbow mount of the controls and battery. OM Goodness what a difference! You don't even know you are holding it anymore. I was gonna build a straight shaft for mine but when I started pricing it out it only made sense to just buy one ready to go. I cannot say enough about Bill "plugger" and his product and ingenuity. Great guy to do business with and great guy to chat with, 110% recommended to get his products.

thank you one and all for the info. made my own hip mount , will look into a three piece travel shaft. already love my Excalibur II, if it gets much better we might have to get married.

Check out the Anderson rod that KellyCo sells.
Mounts the Excalibur under the forearm and balances great.
It does make a big difference.

imho the anderson shaft is ok as i do have one, but the 3 piece rod that plugger makes is allot better feel for my self..:clapping::detecting:

I chest mount the Excal and stick the coil on my Sovereign GT shaft. Since I am taking two detectors anyways (1 for back up) I only need to pack the GT Shaft. Bad shoulders are a way of life for many working men. Balance and weight are important. Getting through a days hunt is one thing. Being able to do it again the next day is another. Winter time is prep time. A good shaft and scoop are as important as the detector. I found out one thing this summer. Carry water on the beach. It is a long walk to get some.

The Plugger shaft especially the travel shaft has a new lower clamp that I absolutely love. It locks the shaft from the coil to the main shaft and is rock solid. Not one single wiggle from over a year of heavy use.

I've got the 2 piece, behind elbow mount and love it, got one on the sovereign too, i've also got the chest mount but only used it once so far on the excalibur as i've been using the etrac (out of the water due to bad weather)

I have the 3 piece travel model, very satisifed.

I have the three piece Plugger shaft. IT is the best shaft I have found. Great for travel and the new clamp at the end is awesome.
