sounds interesting sure enough .........I always get a kick out of trying to guess when a new machine will make it to the classifieds , what do you think?? . I bet we see one on the classifieds in Jan. .........I was seeing the explorer se on the classifieds before the paint even dried on the things ......I always chuckle ..I think people by machines then use them once and dump them ......to each his own ................. I must be bored today :goodnight:

Well, the Excal is an outstanding machine and there's no doubt that the Slimline Tornado coils on the GT are great. And since the electronics are basically unchanged, I wouldn't expect there to be any PROBLEM with them. Likewise though I wouldn't expect that any current Excal user would have "their world rocked" by the Excal II. But I would still think it more likely that their OLD Excal would end up on the classified forum. I mean...dude...the lime green racing stripes alone make it worth the switch! Clearly a sportier chick magnet now.

you would have thought that they would have come out with a balanced shaft! Wake up minelab and read what excalibur owners say about the detector as for the green color, yeah you know what you can do with it.

just bought an excal 2, im reading comments regarding a better shaft. what makes it better and whats the brand name and model. (1st detector for me) thanks for the help

You can get one from Joe at DeMarco Detector Sales. It works great in the water. Balance is superb and rock solid handling. Still a bit heavy for wetsand, but I try to stay away from there anyway! It is still better than stock, no matter how you slice it! Here are our Excals mounted on Lightning Rods, check them out, real clean, eh? I like it!

I don't dive as my ears will probley explode past 5 ft. but how do you think it will work VS the hip mount I now have with my Ex cal 2. I will be wading and walking the beaches

I don't dive either ratpack. I wade in depths to neck deep. I would not recommend EVER hip mounting anything in the surf. I have had too many catastrophies from hip mounts. I am done with it and encourage you to NOT do it. Your coil wire is overstressed, if not secured to the stem of the unit also, ever if nothing ever happened, why take that chance? Ye have been warned mate!

You know i didn't even think of the wire flopping around in the pounding surf and taking hits from waves, OK you sold me
