Excal 2 yellow head phones underwater

I live in Hawaii ,the water and weather here is always quiet nice, so most of my detecting is underwater 3 to 6 feet. Today something strange started happening. Every time I would submerge my head ( with head phones on) under the water my phones would start blasting out a solid tone. The only thing that was different about today was I just bought a lead weighted belt to keep the waves from pushing me around so much. ( Witch works great by the way) So the Excal worked fine until I would go underwater with it. Has this happened to anyone? Whats the deal here? Hope someone out there might understand why. Thank you Aloooooooooooha DC

this did happen to me and after i put a light coat of silicone grease on the rubber battery connector gasket (both sides) it was fine. good luck
