I have made my mine up im keeping the excal , I think its the coil so im going to send it back to mine lab so it can be fixed,
my question is how many coils are out there foe the excal 2 and whats the best one for it!!!!!!and is it safe to have it set up so i can change the coils my self !!!!

The Excal does take some time... I learn something new each time I use it.

LS, I would leave the coil stock. You need to master the unit, as it is. If you want to enhance performance, then add the Gray Ghost Underwaters. THEN you will hear what you've been missing CLEARLY. Mike, you need to change your signature to, "Rookie Pirate". Once you break the gold cherry, you are no longer, "in training". Just a few thoughts, from an old salt, savvy?
 
First trip out with the excal 2 i found two rings,But and i mean a big but,Iwas out there for about 6 to eight hours,im not sure i did goog for the amount of time i was
out there,Ihavent found any gold in the pass few trips back to PENSACOLA,I have found a new spot by me,i dont know if you guys heard of pounch train beach its was open in the late30s rides
and fun and a beach,Its been close for 15 years so its good to go!!!!!and a swimming hole that my friends went to ,so its a new spot to go too,i was changing the coil because some peole said thats whats wrong with the excal 2,i figure if im going to change it i would go with better and upgrade!!!!!!!!Glade your back GULFHUNTER!!!!!!Hope you had a good trip!!!!!
 
I would get the 10" tornado. it is the best I have tried so far really beats the bbs. I also have a wot hard wired to an older excal and I like it also great for big areas . I have tried the connecters and I did not like it . the 10" in my opinion is the best all around coil HH RonC
 
I broke down an ordered the excal II 800 i had a detector pro diver for 2 days an it crashed .That is the second one so no more.I went ahead an bit the bullet an moved up .If this one crashes i'm done it will be a sign but we will see found that first gold ring now im stuck
