Excal 1000....So is this machine water proof right out of the box?

And what kind of accessories can I get for it and where...what about the hip mounts are the worth it?...New machine and way to many questions I'm sure

Yup, its waterproof right out. Get you a good scoop, and id reccomend a straight shaft instead of hip mounting it. When you hip mount it you get all tangled up in the wires.

Here is me with my Excal, the shaft was built by my dad and me. We also built one for my dad and little brother.

The next accessories you probably would want to get is a 12" coil and Grey Ghost headphones. Both of these have to be put on by Minelab but they will increase the Excal's performance. BUT do not get them until you get used to your new machine.
