Excal 1000 and Excal 2 question?

John (Ma)

New member
I was curious the difference from the original excal and the excal 2. Some say, to include a dealer to hang onto the old excal as the sound is better? Can anyone elaborate on this? Are there any other differences I should be aware of?
I have been considering another one and am not sure if I should look for a used older model or if the excal 2 is ok... I will be keeping my current model as well as a back up. Thanks

Some preferred the blue headphones over the yellow koss saying the audio is more detailed, I think it is fine to buy any, other then the sword unless your going to wetsand hunt and a quick dip.

Perhaps the blue headphones make a difference.... but both my 1000 and Xcal II have the yellow headphones and the Xcal II tones to me arent as condensed with these headphones. I noticed it first with the Skullies ... the tones were kind of a learning process on the 1000. But then when i put them on the Xcal II they sounds just like they did with the yellows. Between my 2 i prefer the Xcal II tones.

Thanks for the replies, I have the blue phones now, so I won't worry to much then and get one when the funds allow. Thanks again
