Examples of when Power balancing made a pronounced improvement in field performance.

This is a follow-up post to some discussion down the page somewhere and I thought I'd just start a new one about it.

No real need to post any follow-ups as I am simply passing on story or two that relate to the topic of Power Balancing.

First, let me remind readers that, as a rule, I am "old school" and enjoy using a model that operates with a Threshold audio in any search mode. This is one reason why I am especially partial to using my XLT and MXT. It stems from my enjoyment of using such models as a Tesoro Aztec, which is a VLF/TR-Disc. design and requires a proper Threshold tuned operation. The same holds true for when I go out with my Compass 77B-Auto that is a straight TR (no discrimination).

That said, I also enjoy using some silent-search Discriminators, such as the modified IDX Pro, Bandido, Bandido II
