EX2 in heavy mineralization ???

BillWI

New member
Good Morning Everyone:

I am planning on taking the EX2 to Virginia for a backup detector in the event my Whites Blue and Gray breaks. The soil is going to be very hot, they call the soil powdered iron where we are going to be hunting. I was wondering if anyone had some setup advice for the Explorer 2 in this highly minerilized soil. I want to run it wide open with no discrimination so that I see and hear everything. If anyone uses or has used an explorer for relic hunting, how do you setup the EX2. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks
BillWI

I live in VA, and have no problems with the soil. ExII constantly adjusts ground balance unlike other detectors. You just may have to adjust your sensitivity some.

I've done very well with the setup in the link below. It's a "wide open" setup and should work good for you in that environment. I use it quite often because I like to hear everything and dig what sounds good. And I like to hear my threshold as much as possible.
