Has anyone found a way to get the weight off the front of the machine?. I was useing the Elite with the control box under the cuff with now problems. I bought an EX II and afew hours later I thought my shoulder would fall off because it hurt so bad.
I rigged a swinggy thing bungy cord, it did help, but would like something better.

Swingy thing on the market that transfers weight to larger muscles of the back. Remember goimg to take a while for your muscles to build up. Last but not least a slow level swing with the coil or perhaps switching to the 8 inch coil may help. I have found careful setting of the front rod along with the armrest also helps.Although heavy , bulky and ergonomically imperfect has the best guts around and may take some time to adjust.

As I'm getting kind of old, it was bothering my shoulder also, well even my old Fisher CZ6 did to. I would have to change arms about every 15 minutes. So I bought the Swingy Thingy, from Doc. And it works fine, I swing it for hours now and no problem at all, they really work.

Dan,
As a further comment I would suggest adjusting the lower rod to the shortest length that allows you to just reach the ground in normal operation. Doing this means that each sweep will cover a less ground, but significantly reduces the strain on the arm and shoulder (allowing you to hunt longer). As one builds up the muscles in the arm and shoulders, then the length of the lower shaft can be increased.

A local Explorer user helped me adjust by watching my swing..It really helps and a buddy can really assist...I cam still hear my buddy hollering keep that tip down for a level swing years ago. Actually feels likes its level when its not without an assistant. After a while it just becomes natural....

you're not bending your arm at the elbow. That is what really bothers most people. I always keep mine at a length when my arm is fully extended downward, the coil is just touching the ground. That way I don't have to bend my arm at the elbow while I'm swinging the coil. I can swing it for a long time without any problem.
