EX DD Coil

For those who want to know I just received an EX DD 6in coil for my etac.First time using it in about 45 minutes I found a 44 merc a 48 rosie a 23 and 40 weath.I know that does not sound like a lot but to me and where I hunt it is also my hunting buddy who also just got a small coil for his decetor found a 14k ring.I guess what was so funny is we have been over this yard afew few times with my etrac stock coil and his 12 coil.next day I fond a 1918 and 1919s wheat and other modern stuff.all and allI believe to EX 6inch to be a good coil.I could run it max on sen, most of the time .I am not saying you should run out and buy one of these coils but I do believe that you should have at least 1 good small coil to hunt with .

Is it the EQ2 Excellerator 6" DD ? I was thinking about getting one of those. Glad you like it.

Yes Damar that's it.I am not saying it is the best because it is the only small coil I have used but I am well pleased with it.It hit loud and clear at 6 inches on a couple of the wheats. The only thing it shows a little difference in the fe and co numbers, and as I said before you can run sen. maxed out most of the time.If it cools off some this afternoon I may get out and try short video if I can get my little girl to help.

I use the same coil and really like it. It seperates well and pin pointing is dead on. I've found dimes with it at 6 - 8 inches and it costs less then any other 6" coil. Hard to beat.

Someting to think about !!!!

I ordered a 6" DD EXcelerator EQ 2 Pro coil the other day but still waiting to get it. I really want to explore an old park but with the stock coil its extreemly difficult because its just jam-packed with trash. I hope it gets here soon otherwise I might rent a sod harvester and start excavating!

I've been able to use my new EXcelerator coil for a few days now and wow what an amazing difference in trashy areas! I know it's just me, I have a very difficult time processing audio tones, and with the stock coil my brain could not filter the difference between good high tones and trash high tones in multitone because there were just so many of them (and even in TTF so many of the high tones were all trash-so in this site TTF didn't work like it did at other sites), what can I say I'm audio impaired--I love the stock coil but not in a high trash site. So the smaller coil has cut the number of sounds by about half and I can really really begin to say I can hear the difference in multitone and everything is becoming more automatic. My keeper numbers are higher, despite covering less ground, and most importantly my confidence in what I am doing is increasing. I plan on using the smaller coil exclusively till identifying the target becomes second nature without relying on the TID in multitone, then begin integrating the stock coil in my hunts till the same learning occurs.

I also appreciate how accurate it is. Its aggressive too--finds a solid target and won't let go even in PPM. The problem with depth accuracy when finding shallow targets is no longer an issue (except in that one radio-active park I mentioned before-- all targets are PP at the max depth on the scale (running auto +3 the sen bars are barely visible--yet I find great coins some at 4-6 inches!))

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences!!

I have one coming and I am stoked on trying it. Everyone that has one speaks highly of it and probably 75% of the time I am hunting in areas loaded with trash signals.
