is it ok to get the coil wet on the x70? im going to the beach here in a couple weeks. can you put the coil underwater?
 
Based on your question, I would guess you are asking about the stock concentric 9-inch coil at 7.5 kHz. If so, the answer to that question is yes. All of the X-Terra concentric coils are waterproof. And all of the DD coils except one, are waterproof. The one that is not waterproof is the elliptical 6 X 10 at 18.75 khz. It is considered "water resistant" by Minelab. However, many have reported doing well with it in water, after they run a bead of silicon around the lip where the coil cover overlaps the coil. And putting a dab around where the cable enters the coil. Have fun at the beach! HH Randy
