Every winter my finger tips crack. Best cure

I found is to use sand paper on the hardened edges of the cracked skin. The result is instant pain relief and much faster healing, and no band aids needed. Thought I would post it for others who might have the same problem.

I never would have thought of sandpapering the rough edges. But, it makes since... you are getting rid of the non-pliable skin that constantly pulls on the cracks. Some years ago, I had a friend that had that problem in the winter time. On advice from a dairy farmer, he went to a local farm supply store and bought a container of udder ointment. When a milker has been left on a cow's teats too long and it has chapped them, dairy farmers apply the udder ointment to the affected area. It heals them up rather quickly and nicely. The guy tried the udder ointment on his finger tips and he said it worked wonders for him. If you haven't already, you might try the udder ointment to help replenish the oils in your fingertips.

Good luck,
Robert

Utter ointment just might be the thing I need to keep my hands and fingers from getting real dry. Drug store products don't work. Will look for it on the internet. Thanks.

Hey jabbo,

Here's a link to a place that sells udder ointment with added lanolin: Udder Ointment. It should be very good to add moisture to your skin and to help protect them from drying out. If you look for it on the net (or elsewhere) don't forget that it is spelled "udder" (with d's not t's) ointment. Just thought I'd point that out because the first time I tried to find any I spelled it with t's.... got all the wrong results! :)

Good luck,
Robert

Carefully......Superglue the cracked flesh back together and you'll be suprised at how fast the pain goes away and the healing begins. As said earlier....smooth the area after the glue dries. You should have someone place a drop of glue for you,as you'll be pinching the area back together.
