Ever use a QXT Pro?

What did you think of it? Are there many coils that will work on it? Have seen a few for sale. Seems to have some nice features.

Thanks.
What did you think of it?
The Quantum series were 'interesting' models to but I found they required a more deliberate coil sweep control. I also didn't care for the few 'segments' of discrimination, preferring models with a variable discriminate control. I got to use both the Quantum II and Quantum XT prototype and thought they were 'OK' and could compete with something out there, but they just weren't for me. Very slow sellers. The Quantum XT was renamed QXT Pro about six

I liked the XT as it worked in my area. For lots of people it didn't, so sales were limited and in fact they didn't bother to import the Pro version to the U.K. at all. The Classics, 6000 range, XLT worked well or very well anywhere so what the problem with the Quantums was I don't know.
I should try and find out if anyone in your area has one and is having much success with it. The attractive price isn't much good if your going to end up trading it on in a few months.

The one I tried out was not for me. On reflection most of what I did not like about it was that the gain control and disc did not function well together?? from dead quiet at low settings (poor depth)to extremely noisy/jittery when trying to get average depth. Very hard to find a middle ground setting for hunting trashy areas with some depth. It seemed to be a very well thought out detector except for that. Honestly I did not use it very long and that was a few years back so I could have it very wrong.

Jackpine just about summed it up !!!! It was unstable !!!!
Did not have a great deal of depth in my area........................

i liked my qxt had the older and newer models, great audio, just run it wide open and set you disc point with a high tone, when discriminating it crackles alot and seems to slow down the recovery speed, we have pretty mineralized ground and had no problem with depth, did better than my silver eagle or my fathers xlt, i couldn't believe it when i found a 6" crescent wrench down 8" in iron ore pellets next to the tracks, when the audio is wide open they are pretty forgiving of you swing speed, my only complaint is i wish they had a numbered id system and more notch zones with a quicker smoother discrimination, my deepest small finds, small square nails at 14 in. most items are only 4-6 in in the area, planning to pu another one
