This cooler weather is making me want to try to metal detect, just for a little while . I'm going to have to go to some places where I can dig up without worrying about it. You know, like in a field or old homestead that doesn't have a manicured yard. That way I can dig standing up or bending over instead of trying to kneel down. Even with knee pads, it's too painful. I have a very small shovel, really just a glorified trowel, but it digs a smaller hole and then just rake the dirt back in the hole and on to the next target. On those manicured lawns and at a park, you have to dig smaller holes or pry the coins out like some of the more experienced metal detectorists do with a screwdriver.

I feel for you bud. I'm dying to go but still feel like crap and weak as a new born kitten. Really pizzes me off to be in such sheety shape. Hope you shape up so you can go.
