ever see a quarter cut like this?

got this in some change. On edge it looks funny, as if a tool made a cut all around the edge, (the center of the edge) It also strikes me odd that the copper band runs around the edge in the center as opposed to off to one side as most clad quarter are. I checked it with another 1985, other than that it looks normal. Do think in got lined up funny in the machine? Or was struck weird. Or could one side have been under severe durress or pressure causing the surface metal to fold over onto itself, giving the illusion the copper band is in the center? Any one ever see one like this? Opinions, Thanks, CO
 
Similar but not like that
 
I see alot of dimes that look sort of like that. They are cut like yours, but I never really noticed the silver/copper/silver layers. on them. They usually are almost black in the center.
 
Its from an acid bath. The acid eats the copper quicker than the clad plating. Here are some similar specimens....
