Ever have a night when you just had to get out of the house and Md.

There is a small play ground 5 blocks from my house. I haven't been there in over a month. It is in a quiet neighborhood with almost no traffic. It is totally lit up at night and it is all wood chips. It has very little trash. I keep it cleaned up. It always has some goodies for me. I have it all to myself at night. Tonight was the night. It was a beautiful day. I stepped out with my shorts, t-shirt and sandals. It started to rain. We are in our dry season. I am going anyway, it might stop. After setting in my car for a while and almost falling asleep, the rain slacked off. Time to go. I got good hits right away and found a kiddies ring. It started to rain again. I tried to Md under the play ground platforms. It started raining harder. I made it to the pavilion. I took off my headset and listened to the rain on the roof. The night looked nice with the Spanish moss hanging from the trees in the rain. Not bad. It sure is peaceful, except for a few mosquitoes.

Gosh, John, even though we're having way above temps here in Iowa, your post and pictures sure makes Florida look mighty inviting.

Nice finds, too.

I like the peace and tranquility also. Sometime I go to the top of a hill while it's snowing, and just take several deep breaths and reflect to the many gifts I have such as family, friends, job, food in the fridge etc......it doesn't take much to make me happy, just the basics. :)

I like night hunting, myself. Its quiet, there are no bothers and it is just so different that it is encouraging.
FL is a good place to do it, too, especially in the summer. I know FL must seem enticing to you popsiclers up north, but there is an offset.
It is hot, humid and teeming/infested with critters in the heat of the year.

This is the best time in Fl. for inland MDer's. Temps mainly in the 70's. THIS IS MY TIME! It was in the 70's last night and the mosquitoes were eating me up. The summer heat and humidity are the worst. I have had no less then a 1000 blind mosquitoes all over my body while MDing. They keep crawling all over your face and though your hair. There is nothing you can do about it. The beaches are the best. It is all play and big rewards.

Me to, just the basics. Nothing fancy for me. I used to live with my aunt and uncle in a 15 room mansion with servants and the whole nine yards and I found out when we got up every morning my uncle put his pants on the same way I did - one leg at a time. :)

And if you saw my uncle walking around uptown you wouldn't think he had 35 cents. He never put on airs or talked or blew about money or how much he had. He wore khakis and a T-shirt and looked like farmer John.

WE went to the nursery one day to buy a bunch of plants and shrubs and we started throwing them into the trunk and back seat of my uncle's new Coupe DeVille. I Told him he should have a pickup. He smiled and said, " I got one."
