Ever had Lincoln jump right out at you?

I hit my back-up park again this week (still lying low on IH park because of the community vigilante lady). I got a funky penny range signal, found the target and when I picked it up I saw Lincoln comming right out of the penny at me! Appears to be some kind of commemerative pin where a bust of Lincoln was stamped right into a wheat cent. It's like He's bursting right out of the face of the cent in "3-D" like high relief. The back seems like it was fashioned into a pinback. I thought it was pretty neat!
My finds this hunt (in addition to the Lincoln pin)
1 Merc 1942
8 wheats (incl 1919)
4 IHs 1890, 1892, 1903(2)
1 Canadian cent 1951
1 Connecticut transit token
misc do-dads
Thanks for looking, Bruce in Ct

cool ! great indians too !

Neat finds! That Lincoln pop out is cool. That are also called pushed-out , embossed or repousse .coins A jewelry in San Francisco started doing this in the late 1800s-early 1900s by pushing out a Liberty head on Morgan dollars and Barber coins. I've seen the Liberty head versions all the way through to those with JFK's head. Sometimes the bar that is on the back has a patent date (at least on some of the Barber coins). That's a nice Merc and Indian Heads and the button and heart shaped do-dad is cool too. HH

Man, those are some great digs Bruce. The Lincoln thingy is a pretty unique find. Congrats.

Nice finds Bruce.:clapping: My buddy Lee found a Indian head penny one time that was pressed out like your Lincoln head. Not sure what it was for though. HH.
