Even a blind squirrel can find a gold ring.........

I'm a dirt hunter-no water or park hunting to speak of--really like finding relics of the past..My gold ring count after 3.5 years of detecting was holding steady @ ZERO.....until today..............I was at the same site from my last post --old site--with lotsa modern trash on top of the good stuff--the house that was here--- burned--so lots of melted metal blobs to dig up too!!Using 6in excellerator coil goin slow--. Woke up today feelin punky and old---but went out anyway. First 2 hrs I'd found 2 pennies and a 1975 coin from Chile...Still feelin tired--- get another signal --not a high tone but solid reading 12-28 on the E-TRAC ..Like I said-- I'm not feelin good today-I look at the depth--couple of inches-ok guess i'll dig it....Flip up some dirt and I see a ring layin there--gold colored-- I pick it up-- it's heavy--missing a stone-no corrosion on it--I believe I've found my first gold ring!!!And I almost didn't dig it! Went back to the truck and grabbed a shovel and a med size ice chest--scooped up the dirt and a few more shovelfulls to take home and look for the stone..On the way home stopped at one of those gold buyer places-tested 14k weighed 12.8 g-and was offered $164 for it. This ring is crudely made-has pits in it and looks cast to me-maybe an old one-don't know. Also found a 1975 coin from Chile-- and a kleen kutter-- thingy -- kabob..Thanks for lookin and listening and good luck to all!! Tony AZ

Awesome I never really thought about finding gold I like coins but as of late I have been digging signals in that entire range. I want to be a blind squirrel too! I believe the Kleen Kutter is face plate to a lock.

Congratulations on the gold! Thanks for the pictures.
