1.. I know that I never buy anything off those types of Internet sites, but I know many folks do. I also know some buy at some overly high prices, often not knowing much about various metal detectors or the hobby in general. I wish them luck in their decisions, and I hope the buyer of this clean-looking Euro Sabre appreciates it. I know that I want one and have been trying to find a very clean, as-new Euro Sabre myself. They have their shortcomings, but I do have a use for one in my detector battery.
2.. I also know that whoever buys this Euro Sabre ought to invest in a modern, current-production, top-end detector such as a brand new-in-the-box White's VX3. The buyer might already have a Tesoro or two around so they really don't need another, and they could just send this Euro Sabre and a $450 USPS Money Order to me in trade.

There's one up for auction, only 18 hours in already up to $355.00, 6 days to go.
Pretty good amount so far for an older machine. Might make sense for Tesoro
to offer it here in the US again, since they are currently selling newly manufactured ones in Europe.
No brainer to do.
The Euro Sabre as an interesting release here, many years ago, and is basically a modified Eldorado providing ED-180 Discrimination and a fair attempt to produce a 2-tone audio ID to help classify some iron targets. I found the one I had to work reasonably well on shallower-depth targets and was handy, with a smaller-size coil, for working my favorite old town sites and homesteads, and so on.
The bulk of the people involved in the meta detecting hobby are typical urban coin shooters and I'd bet many of them would find the Euro Sabre to come up a bit short of what performance they would like to have. It's a modern era and most folks want a modern detector. Yep, Tesoro ought to make some more, for the few of us who would appreciate them, but this particular clean-looking specimen should just be bought and traded to me.
Biased,
