"EUREKA GOLD"

I've been reading the posts for some time now and wondered if I would ever have a find as good as some that I've read about. Well the other day I was working my favorite park, when a lady came over and asked if I had tried the sand box volleyball courts. She said that a friend of heir's husband had lost his wedding band the last weekend while playing. I said I hadn't and continued detecting. That evening I thought about it and decided to give it a try the next morning. This park is huge,it has soccer fields, baseball and softball fields, wood chip tot lot, and three full size volleyball courts. The first morning I was able to cover one court, finding a number of coins. This morning I decided to try another court, but run the MXT in prospecting mode this time. I was on the first half maybe a third into it when a got a good sold it. VDI= 8 to10 Iron 10%. I switch to coin and jewelery and got a depth of 6". Have you ever tried to dig 6" of sand without a scoop, not easy need to get one. Anyway I got my first gold, not the wedding band, but most likely better. It might be small but it is sold, not plated. Sorry about the blur hard to hold still at such close range. It has the word love on it. Still have one and a half courts left to find the other ring. :yikes:

Nice finds, gold rings make your day. Post your your finds and they don't have to be gold. How have you been doing with the prospecting mode? It's about 30% deeper but it's a bother switching modes to get a depth reading. I've used it, but only in more open sites. Rob

BIG congratulations to your first gold ring. It's so sweet to see a 1st time find. Hopefully you'll be able to find the wedding ring for the guy that lost it. If so, you might be able to detect his yard and so on and so on. This is the start of many rings to come your way. Thanks so much for the pictures and the story. HH to all, Nancy

P.S. I figured you were still shaking when you took the picture of your first gold...... I know I would have been!

This is the first time using the prospecting mode in the field. I'm new to the MXT, about two months. Got a Shooter DD for nugget hunting, haven't had time yet. Live in gold country so am going to do it soon. It was really unbelievable how fast and strong the MXT grabbed on to the gold. It's a great machine.

Great job! I hunt in the prospecting mode allot. Its the best way to find gold jewelry, coin and jewelry mode picks up silver but passes up good gold items.
