Eureka gold

I want any good info on the eureka gold. I just bought one and am really wanting to go hunt with it. Dose anyone one know how deep it gose or it ease of use. Or any good videos of it? Thanks.

It's a great detector in mineralized ground. Depth depends on mineralization and size of target. Just read the manual 3 or 4 times and go where gold has been found before. Get a small test nugget or piece of lead about the size of a BB and one a little larger. Bury them and practice hearing the signals. It won't be the same in your back yard as it will be in the gold fields. Practice a few mintues in the gold fields before you continue hunting.

How deep will it go on gold smaller than a gram say .5 of gram. I have seen it on youtube and looks like it works very well on hot rocks.

Hi Mate

on a 0.5 nugget the Eureka will hear it in reasonably mineralised ground at roughly 4"
you may get different depths depending on whether low/med/high frequency, for that
size gold i would run it in the high 60khz freq and in auto ground tracking.
Always have the coil as close to the ground as possible thats what skidplates are for.

Thanks Pete very helpful I was asking because i was going to buy one but will think i will continue using my gold bug se. And maybe save for a minelab SD2200 or somthing. Unless i wan't to go find smaller stuff.

Cheers Jess

For roughly the same $$ as a new Eureka you could pick up a s/hand 2200D with all the fruit.

The SD2200D green box is a better 2200 than the SD2200v2, runs smoother and deeper, great for
using Mono coils of all sizes especially the 11" Mono, that combo kills the top 12" on any size gold.

Happy Scratchin
Pete
