ETrac wireless and waterproof

GoVidGo

New member
Anyone else have the motto 'if it's good make it better?" ...LOL

2 things I added to my ETrac in the last few months have made a TOTAL DIFFERENCE in my opinion...

2 comments about other detectors I have heard over and over and found a very comparable solution for.... for the ETrac... and they have been impressive in the field

#1 THE AT-PRO IS WATER-PROOF! I HAVE NOT DUNKED MINE BUT HAVE USED IT IN THE RAIN....

#2 WHITE'S V3i AND V3 HAVE WIRELESS HEADPHONES WITH NO WIRE TO TANGLE!...

I have attached 2 pics of my ETrac with a set of the new Kovar Covers and the Auvio wireless system that you can only order online now...

The Kovar Covers have the head unit cover the 'Sof-Touch' clear screen with allows you to use all the head unit buttons easily plus is non-reflective. As you can see they pretty much enclose the head unit around the grip and you can pretty much dunk the head unit upside-down without water getting to it. I have detected in a complete downpour...really!

The wireless headphones system is Auvio. The can only be purchased online now. I added a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter to the transmitter, as you can see in the pics, for $2.00 from Walmart. The transmitter and headphones are both wireless and rechargable, with the same split charger! and you know a full charge cause the 'Auvio logo stops blinking! Really kewl. It's not blue-tooth but a 2.4 mzh frequency, so there is NO DELAY and the headphones have their own fine volume control so you can fine tune your threshold or tones, if you want.

water? weather? .... I can hit the downpour rain, not get my wire snagger, download a pattern off my laptop to my ETrac and hunt how I want and hold my own vs any other detector....

When you go wireless and weatherproof on the ETrac, it only adds to it's advantages....

Sorry for the digital camo on the pics... I just kinda like it....LOL

Do a search on FeeBay and you will find the cover and the headset.

Love this cover. The matching wrap is self-adhesive so it wont leave any residue if I take it off and wash it. I also sprayed the cover with a super-hydrophobic coating so water doesn't even have a second to sit. :)

I dig the headphones, but I am not so crazy with the camo design on the e-trac. But if it suits you, all the better, right?

How long do the headphones last on a full charge? Also what kind of sound quality do you say the headphones have? Thanks and HH.

I did a Fee-Bay search for the Kovar covers, and got nada. I really like the looks of those (beats the plastic bag I used the other day!)

I like the matching wrap, too. Anyone know where else the cover and matching wrap can be found?

ALSO -- can someone talk about the quality of the sound on the Auvio headphones, compared to the KOSS UR-30 phones that come with the machine? I am so used to the sound of the tones on my KOSS phones, that I'd be very hesitant to switch, unless the Auvio's render sound very similarly. If they DO -- then these phones are absolutely something to consider...

As kurtallen asked, what's the model number of this wireless setup?

Steve

Thanks for the model #. Now where can I get some? Not on ebay or amazon and my local Radio Shack says they can't get any. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Picked up the headphones on Sunday and wore them in the field today. Worked great. Hmmmm...something just occurred to me...if it happens again tomorrow I will put it in my post.

Wore the wireless headphones again today. What I noticed yesterday and confirmed today is that when I used to use the Koss headphones and the new Liberty headphones [both connected to E-trac] my upper back and shoulders would get real tired after only a few short hours. With these wireless earphones, neither my back or arms bother me.
