eTrac vs walmart detector and a garrett

Got out for a little hunt. Hit an empty lot and got some silver. Old fella from across the street came to see what I was finding.
He was pretty windy, told me a guy had hunted a couple years ago and found all kinds of silver and a $20 gold piece.
The more the old guy talked the more I figured he was full of crap.

One area was pretty well cleaned out, only got one wheat and one clad.
Hunted around and hit a 1942 20 centavo that was part of a bracelet then about a foot from it hit another one then a couple feet from it got 3 of them still connected.
Also got a silver washington and a rosie.

I have experienced similar stories around here, except the neighbor that was asking "whatcha findin?" was the guy who said "he hunted it couple years ago". I never did tell him he missed

7 indians, a 1902 V nickel, a 1918 mercury dime, and a handful of wheats scattered about in what was the 50' X 50' front yard of the vacant lot. A Minelab and some patience will still find

the good stuff.

Great finds!! I had the same thing happen this summer when hunting a place I pulled lots of good silver coins from. This guy came and talked forever about how he hunts there and that there wasn't even a wheat penny left that he got them all. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I pulled 25 wheats and lots of slivers I got from there in a couple weeks. I also didn't tell him about the 3 silvers I had in my pocket and the silver ring..LOL I was laughing inside the entire time he was talking.

Though not germane to the discussion, but in reference to the title:

Based on in-ground tests, the E-Trac is about 1.5x deeper than the ACE250 in average soil conditions and nearly 3x deeper (2.8x) in heavily mineralized soil.

The very low op freq of the E-Trac is also better suited for silver and other high conductors. The ACE can find things for sure - it is just not in the same league with ground-balanced machines.
