Hi all, just got an etrac, got the stock coil, 13" ultimate, still learning the machine but can see its potential, just a bit daunting to be honest, any advice welcome, my main question is, has anybody tried the very small 6.5 x 3" shrew coil, and is it any good, my other question is, i am having a lot of trouble understanding numbers on my etrac,

thanks for any advice in advance, kind regards john

First I have heard of them. Buy one and be a reviewer for us.
The price is right with a 3 year warranty available.
A direct competitor for NEL and Detech from the same part of the world so currency issues make the prices very attractive.
With the Nokta/Makro/Racer/ForsCor/Impact connections it would lead me to beliieve there are some corporate directives and consolidations in the future.

I think the reason you don't see a lot about E-Trac users with small coils is that it sort of defeats the reason they own the E-Trac.

Granted coils like the SEF 6x8 and even the Joey have had a few good reviews, but what separates the E-Trac from the rest of the crowd is raw depth and the ability to easily hear and see those deep coins. With the smaller coils you loose most of the advantage and enter the realm where most other detectors reside and even dominate. If I was going to hunt a very trashy site the E-Trac would be my last choice. It can do OK with a small coil but there are much better detectors for that job. The right tool for the right job.
