Etrac/ sepro

Nock

New member
I now have the se pro for about a year now, i may be able to upgrade to the etrac in the near future but would like to ask someone who has used them both would this be that much of a improvement to spend the money on a new machine, my current se is in perfect condition, iam just thinking about the etrac.

thank you David

It was well worth it for me as I got the E-Trac when they were first released and sold my SE Pro a few months later. After using the E-Trac for a few days I had no desire to return to the SE.

I went from DFX to Se to Etrac

I can honestly say that the Etrac is just that much better

Honest

Good Luck and HH

I purchased the ET a week and a half ago after running an Se Pro for almost 2 years. I have to say already, the ET is much better (IMO) than my Se Pro. I know there are people on this forum that say that if you have an Se Pro, don't "waste" the money on the ET, but I disagree. The ET seems to be much more stable and has so many more functions/options that were missing on the Se Pro. The information that the ET gives is much more clear than on my Se Pro. To be honest, I like everything better about my ET than my Se Pro so far. Still hasn't helped me find more than I did with my Se Pro, but thats not the machines fault, everything around here is heavily hunted out. I will still keep my Se Pro as my backup machine as I really do like it, but the ET has def already proven that it will be my primary every single time I go out. Hope this helps. HH -Marc

I'm with the others. I used the SE Pro for 2 years and went to the E-Trac and felt there was no comparison. At least for me. I pulled many good old coins out of the city park with the SE but pulled many more with the E-Trac after the SE quit producing. Without a doubt it was an big upgrade for me.

You asked so..
Had a DFX which I enjoyed and then got the Se which produced but the Etrac is AMAZING
I find the Etrac is easier to use, really and adjustment just makes it a great personal fit
Good Luck and HH

I now am a new owner of the E Trac detector. I have to say the time i have on it is very little due the very hot days we have been having but what i have on it i can say i am very happy about owning it and like it very much.

Had 4 other brands of top line detectors of which I had an Explorer 11 but never got used to it. Prefered visual not sounds at first target id no's. I used primarily a DFX and also had a Fischer CZ (heavy) and a Garretts. When the article on the E-Trac in one of the monthly treasure magazines came out I had to get an E-Trac to try for myself. I got Andy's book with it and read it several times till it all sank in. This machine and myself just clicked especially since I had read Andy's book so understood the settings and such and love the fact that I have multiple tones and the target id no's to with it on the screen. I have found more in the last 2 years in the same places than all the years on and off I detected since getting hooked as a teen I'm 53 now. Got close to 30 silvers last year alone. I sumarrily sold the other 4 detectors and got another E-Trac and put the small 6x8 sef coil on it for really trashy spots. Fantastic machine!!

NOW that is the coolest thing I have ever heard!! You know this man loves the etrac!! Instead of getting just the coil and shaft he bought a whole unit with it!! Gotta love it, I would do that too if I had the money.

LOL, Thanks but I did sell my 4 other machines I had at the time from over the last 10 years to buy the other E-Trac and that sef 6x8 coil for it so I didn't have to switch back and forth all the time and if my brother or someone else had a hankering to go try detecting they could use it. I also picked up a few of the other coils like the Sunray 5, 8, and 12 inchers and the 10x12 sef.

nice, but it still just sounds so cool! By the way, what do you think about the 10x12 SEF? Do you like it more than the standard PRO coil?
