eTrac modes / patterns

I have seen a pattern posted here and there, but is there a thread somewhere that is just people posting their patterns and modes?

It would be great if everyone could post their patterns and the modes used in 1 thread, I think it would make it easier then digging through old threads trying to find stuff here and there. Hope I am not being to bossy for the new guy, just thought it would be a good idea :surrender:

My line of work is actually web development, I cant say I would pay my guys a bunch of money to build a custom application (cause I am a poor mofo after buying an etrac and 2 coils) :wiggle:, but if I came up with a solution and a separate .com name just dedicated to the etrac and its functions would anyone else be willing to post some of their modes / patterns?

I know some people like to use other people's patterns, but I'm an advocate of figuring it out yourself unless you have a truly bizarre hunting location that requires special configuration. The preset modes are very good, and if you understand all the settings (read Andy Sabisch's book!) you can tweak them for your site or preferences. I think this is why you don't see a lot of clamoring for a place to exchange configurations. The E-Trac has much fewer tweaks than a White's - I can totally see needing to tweak the White's and I never ever felt I got all the settings right. You had to tweak the XLT for best performance. Not so with the E-Trac - ready to go right from the box. I'd spend my time detecting rather than building a website or messing with other's configurations. I know some people would rather tweak than detect, but my spare time is limited and I'd rather be digging old coins. If I felt I was not getting performance in one area I would discuss it on the board and see what suggestions were made to improve the area where I felt performance was lacking (but there ain't much lacking in my opinion!).

What has fascinated me about the etrac is that it is really built to share information with others. I just got my etrac yesterday so I wont be having enough knowledge anytime soon to be putting up my own programs. But I do have the knowledge to build out a decent site in my spare time (I have a lot of spare time these days) that us etrac owners can use day in and day out to exchange our programs / information.

I was thinking something fairly simple at least to start with.

Just a place that you more experienced etrac guys could share your patterns / modes.

In my mind, the etracs are built to share information and besides a post here and there on the forums, I have yet to find 1 place that ALL etrac owners could use to share their info.

Maybe for those of you who are interested could send me a pm so we can start sending some emails back and forth?

mlotv dot com has some patterns. NickA is on the right track though. My pattern for hunting up here in NYC parks wouldnt do well in a open fiels in VA. Ground conditions play a big roll here. The stock coil and the 6" E2 with Andys book is all you need. The programs that come with the EZtrac are hard to beat. It may seem overwelming now but after 30 hours if dig time "dig it all" its second nature to setup on the fly.

There is an emulator on another forum that I am finding very helpful in learning how to use the machine.
