Etrac gold settings

Hi guys, but hitting a park pretty hard mainly picking clad coins due to the set-up of the machine. Now that I have thinned out some of the coins wanted to go over it a few times looking for jewelry. Any recommendations? I know their has to be some rings, chains, etc. laying out there somewhere. I was finding so much clad I pretty much tuned out everything but coins. Thanks

Ive found quite a few gold rings and the numbers can vary a lot on your VDI, which means you will be digging a lot of other stuff to get them.

I recommend search the forum for disc programs. That is what Ive done as well as swept over every gold ring I could find to check them out.

Chains, mmm not so much as they are the most difficult for the E trac to read as they are a bunch of small loops in string form., unless its balled up then you will get them to read.

Good luck.

I prefer this pattern to the Minelab coin pattern

Open it all the way to left from 8 to 14 and you'll get most jewelry if you're willing to dig it.
Silver rings and things will mostly be above Co 38 but gold can run anywhere from 03 to the high 30's
Don't believe the BS about an etrac not getting the small stuff--you just need to slow down and be willing to dig a 1000 bits of foil. :)

The E-Trac will hit fine on fair sized rings but I don't think there is anything you can do to make it pick up chains unless they are big. Even pendents and earrings can give the E-Trac a very tough time. The E-Trac just wasn't designed for gold it was designed to find that copper and silver and that it does as good as it gets.

run your sensitivity as high as you can, it makes a difference with both the fbs and bbs detectors. some gold that is not picked up at lower sens will hit fine at higher sens settings. The etrac is better on small gold than a lot would give it credit for, same for the Sov.

I'd love to see a video to back that up! I've tested many of gold pieces with every possible suggested setting and couldn't get it to hit on small earrings or chains much more than an inch or two from the coil. Put that piece of gold on the ground and it becomes invisible to the E-Trac.
