Etrac gets it done!

Just had to share my first experience with this new machine. After taking a break from relic hunting, decided to get back into the hobby and researched the latest offerings from all the major manufacturers. Had always heard Minelab was heavy and processing speed was slow.......boy was I wrong. After reading a lot of real world stories and reviews, I made the decision to move ahead with Etrac......Have had the machine in action only 3 days and here is the scoop so far. I live on a relic rich property in highly mineralized Orange, Virginia. The problem has been finding a machine that can see into this soil plus discriminate 150 years of trash, foil, junk metal that has accumulated since 1860.....I was a loyal Tesoro user for many years but even I couldn't get it to see deep into this clay. Now for the E-trac.....very easy to use out of the box.....Lots of great instructional videos and info on youtube gave me a little advantage.....I settled in on two tone ferrous but seems like I get a bit more depth with conductive and then I just check it with ferrous to make sure it is still ringing.....must be working......yesterday I dug a sword belt keeper at 5 inches (deepest relic to date in this clay) and today was even better! A Wisconsin Coat Button and a flying eagle cent!!! And I haven't even really got into the finer tuning aspects of this machine! Now that I can see into this soil, can't wait to see what the place yields once I really learn this machine. I would also note that this machine runs exactly as programmed. I can't believe how well this thing runs in hot ground (very quiet when disc set properly)and the auto sens is genius. Anyway, I am all in at this point. Here's today's goodies.

Nice finds. I have red clay and mineral problems too. Seeing something bigger than a quarter at 5 inches isn't a big deal. I upgraded from a a 305 to the ETrac and still cannot find any silver. I am finding wheats at 1-5 inches. I am finding shallow silver jewelry that the that detects with me misses, because of the ETrac's see through and high trash capabilities. Reltolbert probably lives in the midwest and finds mercs in 8-10 inches of black soil and thinks we are just using the wrong settings or just too stupid to noise cancel.

Thanks -

Here is a neat one from today. This one is from WWI and not Civil War, but still a neat little pin. Love this Etrac more and more every hour-------

Nice finds and good luck with your new E-Trac !

Less than 2 weeks with this machine and I am absolutely amazed at the way this Etrac works in bad ground. I am still learning as you can see from above.....but so far so good!!!

my own yard...lots of history....plenty of goodies here bit lots of trash, coal, clay...etc.....hunting in coin mode....4 tone...conductive...deep off.....ground difficult.....

on a whim pushed the coil under the edge of our old boxwoods.....nice mid tone.......then another....then another....below is the loot.....not sure how to clean...but I think those are nickels....they have a "v" on the back and dated 1911 and 1901......also a sweet buffalo in the group and of course, you can see the gorgeous 1918 silver in all her glory.....all this with old rusty nails also in the ground....I find that the etrac does a better job of disc than any other machine I have ever used...running coin mode cuts out all the junk and leaves me with the best of the best...in a year or so, I may be lethal with this bad boy....!!!
