Etrac Beach Settings

Can anyone tell me how to minimize falsing every time water hits wet sand or water it sounds off?
I know about senitivity being to high.
I thought I heard something about canceling numbers

Sounds like you might just have the sensitivity set too high. Are you searching in manual or auto? The ETrac should be able to handle wet sand without any issue. It will sometimes false if waves go over the coil. There are some specific settings you can use for the beach. Andy's book is a good resource for that.

In my area I run deep off, fast off, tones long, trash low, ground neutral, open screen except 27 FE and up. Sensitivity at auto plus 3 as there is enough black sand it seems to cause me trouble above 21 manual or so. Auto +3 usually stays above 20 though. If conditions allow I hunt in pinpoint mode anyways. Only switch back if it gets to chattery and for target ID. Works for me around here!

I am not too experienced on the beach, but when i have hit the beach a few times and the coin program goes nuts! There are so many beeps in the 12-01 to 12-05 range that I can't swing without going nuts. Not having done a lot of research on beach patterns, I used my quick mask screen with all the FE below 7 shut off and the CO higher than 27 shut off - this worked perfectly for my needs.

Hope that helps.

I keep my ET at sens 29 auto +3 , gain 27 , Variability and limits 30 , noise cancel at 1 to 3 . On the screen i have a slight cresent shape downward from line 19 with the middle at 22 and blacked below that.
Also i black out the 1 to 25 on line 1.
Never get any erratic behavier but i am afraid there is not much that can be done about the nulling , it always runs in salt mode so even with a clear screen it will null a bit if a coin is under or very near iron.
I use the Terra 705 for getting around that.
