Etrac and a small coil

kickback

New member
Has anyone used a 5" Sunray coil on their Etrac in heavy thrash yet? Just wondering about target seperation and depth. Thanks Bill

They both are fantastic performers in the junk. The 5 inch has gotten down 6 inches no problem, With the smaller coils you can bump up the sensitivity also.

I have the sunray 5" and 8" and they both work extremely well in trash. Lately, I find myself using the 5" more for the size than the trash separation as I have been hunting some lots with weeds up to my waist and this coil will get down in between the weeds and doesn't get hung up like the bigger open face coils.

I've been using the sunray 5 and the Excelerator EQ2 6 inch coil and both have been killers in trash. The EQ definitely goes deeper.

Bought the 5 inch accelerator on sale from Kellyco two weeks ago...works good. Bought the 6 inch EQ2 off of Ebay a week ago....is killer. Love it. I will film my promised video of depth and target variations with the different coils for the Xterra and the Etrac by next week for sure... I have almost all the coils up to the 12 by 15 SEF and the 15 inch coiltek (WOT) as well as most of the Xterra coils. I just received the 8 inch minelab DD for the Etrac Saturday. Tortoise

I have the 6" Excelerator coil and have used it with much success on my SE Pro. I can easily run the sensitivity to 30 and get about 8" on a dime air testing. I've read a lot of reviews on all of the coils, and I would say the 6" Excelerator is just the right compromise for target separation and depth. I can't wait to try it on my new E-TRAC.

Have a good one!
Brett

Iam using the Mineklab small coil known as the 8" but for some reason years ago we new them as the 71/2" and called them a Joey.

I believe others makes have now taken up this same name since those early days.

Its very effective and at times Iam tempted to keep it on but mostly I use it for long grass and ploughed fields.

The pinpointing is also very accurate and the machine feels lighter on the bottom end.Jerry.

We used to used them on the Explorer range but its very effective on the e-trac. :beers:Jerry
