Error coin?

Found a 1806 half cent last summer. Its posted on the DFX forum. Unlike a coin now days the front and back don't line up. What I mean is if you have the bust strait up and flip it so you can see the back its tilted to the left some. Was just wondering if anyone knew if this was an error or a common thing for a coin of this age.

Nice coin, Bruce!

Rotated Dies
"Dies which do not possess the obverse/reverse relationship or die axis intended by a mint.

The term has relevance only for machine struck coinage, in which the dies are supposed to function in a precisely set, undeviating relationship to one another. Rotated dies can be the result of sloppy mint practice, in which dies are carelessly set in a coining press. Or the dies may have been correctly set, working their way loose
