Equinox recovery vs. Deus recovery (Reactivity setting)

What I'd like to know is this: The faster you make the Equinox recover from trash to a good target,
does this lessen the depth like it does for the Deus?
On the Deus, the higher the REACTIVITY, the less depth. Setting it at its highest reactivity level
you can hardly get any depth.

The manual says it reduces depth. No mention of the Deus.

Hello Tony,

Most likely, Any increase of recovery will decrease depth. This applies with any detector, its a good feature when ground conditions are tough (trash/iron/mineralization).

Under some conditions, Increasing recovery speed will enhance depth especially in tough soil. With my Deus, Using Gold field program higher reactivity in my soil enhances Depth. Just today, tried running 2 reactivity but ground noises created poor stability. Bumped it up to 2.5 reactivity stability was much better, In some areas had to operate with 3 reactivity but most of the hunt was operating with 2.5 reactivity.

Todays hunt was a relic site with tough soil, same applies with river fresh water with black sand. Have to operate between 2.5 to 3 reactivity, Any lower Deus is unstable, Depth is still good with these reactivity settings.

Deus with HF coils is my no.1 VLF unit for relic sites, Use both disc and Goldfield modes.

Have an Equinox ordered, looking forward to learning it and applying its strengths for my type of hunting.

HH,
Paul
