Received my Equinox 600 from Brad at Big Boys Hobbies about two weeks ago. Took it out after a lot of reading and trial and error in my front yard. In a 1940's park it sounded like a machine gun going off. There was junk scrap, can slaw, bottle caps and pull tabs every where. I wised up a little and discriminated everything out up to +9. That made life at least live able. Found several penny's, a dime and a few pull tabs. Being as I'm kind of capitan retardo with the Equinox I did not expect much. I was digging anything that sounded half way decent. I dug a solid 11 both ways and out pops a square tab and a child's gold ring. I would like to say it was because of my superior skills with this machine and all of my research. We all know that's not true. I believe this is going to be a very good machine once I learn its language. I also agree with several other seasoned knowledgable Minelab detectorist we are finding more gold and silver because we are digging more targets than normal, especially in my case. It goes back to the old adage, "even a blind squirle will find an acorn" once in a while. All of you non experienced Minelab user keep reading and searching, gold and silver is everywhere, yours will show up eventually. My skills with the Equinox are going to have to improve dramatically to produce more treasure than my AT PRO. I,m truly in tune with that machines language.
