equinox depth

watched the video by Dig America he said after testing the equinox for 70 hours that the eqn is not all that good on depth.very good in trash.but just average for as depth is concerned.he didnt say this, but sounds like its no deeper than the exterra.but im still going to get the 600.

Dont know who that is, but I can attest it is every bit as deep as my CTX on small silvers, and MUCH deeper on low conductors.

I can say I saw an 800 with my own eyes dig “carrot depth” coins last weekend in Milwaukee. Specific dirt will have a lot to do with performance,or perceived lack of,and of course any skewing during testing or otherwise. I am intrigued with the speed, and it did do well overall. I’m sure sooner or later those around me will convince me that it’s a good tool to have,I’m simply slow to change,or accept change. If they came out with a CTX style screen for 200 more I’d be in like Flynn, whoever the hell that is.

Dont know what machines he may have been comparing it to. But i agree with Jason..... at least on the beach its as deep as the CTX. Depth is a strange thing....... if you only dig targets at say 7"...... does that mean thats it depth...... or were there just no targets? Then we get the 20" targets dug by people who may have a PP issue lol. I KNOW its deeper on gold than the CTX in some case a good bit when it comes to smaller gold. Come on guys........ the machine is less than $900. Most machines people are comparing it to is twice that.

I have many hours on an Explorer2 which loves deep silver. The Equinox, in the same ground, same conditions easily goes as deep. It was one of my concerns prior to purchase, but can happily say the Equinox has exceeded my expectations here.

To me everyone comparing it to machines now less than 1500 dollars that require changing freq, extra $425 coils speaks to how good the nox is!:)

I can attest to at least 12" on quarters, dimes, pennies and soda cans

I have dug at least 6 of each and I don't like deep targets but if I get a good signal I have to dig it.

MDing is a very subjective art. Few can compare precisely different machines objectively. It seems the 'Nox is very much a love it or hate it deal. I am very impressed with it. I've owned a ton of top end machines and its the one I reach for first. Just look at the number of wish list check offs it satisfies: under a thousand dollars; light; fast; flexible settings; rechargeable; usb/bluetooth; ,multifrequency/single frequency; waterproof etc. And it finds targets really well! The down side is it finds small foil as well as small gold, certain trash looks good, etc. Well, someday all that will be solved and perfect discrimination will be available, but the Equinox is a big step forward and brings us closer to that day. IMHO

I will concede that there are many great detectors in the world and they still work as well as ever. They just don't know they are obsolete. :twodetecting:

Suggest people watch Calabash Digger very objective review of the Equinox and various other detectors. With the exception of some specific circumstances the Equinox beats other detectors except for then XP Deus in those specific circumstances. Dig America is totally offbbase.

Same results here. Every bit as deep on high conductors as my E-Trac, and as good on low conductors/gold as my Deus was.

I am hesitant to make absolute statements, since there are so many variables; but, from the beginning the Nox has seemed at least as deep as my Etrac.

which mode is deeper in high mineralized coin?? I usually search for coin and relics in field 2.. but i hear something about park 2 for deep..!

Yes but does it 'I.D.' at depth as good as the Etrac/Explorer or CTX?

I doubt it. Its no where near the price.
As for depth I have not had in beach modes that much depth. But my beaches are very trashy and irony.
Not been on land with it yet so no idea of other modes.

Whatever the capability of the Nox . My ET won't be replaced by anything other than a ET replacement , and the CTX is not it.6

Used the E-trac from release until replaced with the release of the CTX. After swinging it I had no reason to go back to the E-Trac arm trainer. After 50 hours on the EQX, I'm not seeing myself going back to the CTX. Every bit as deep as the CTX, lighter, faster and more responsive to small gold.

X2 Jason I have used all the Minelabs Explorer till now and never looked back. Some of us embrace new technology and some are resistant to change its just that simple. The E-trac and CTX are very capable detectors but there is something else going on with the Equinox. JMHO
