What is the difference?

Good explanation. I still would like to see an equinox up close. If I could afford another machine I would probably try one. Thanks for the video!

Nice video but out in the field is where it counts. The Explorer is a great unit (bench mark for performance) not ready to throw the white flag in yet. I hope the Equinox lives up to the hype. HH Ron

I've had a few years in the field with use on Explorers. I have owned and used all the Explorer models. Most impressive with an Explorer is finding old coins in worked out areas. True I'm a Sovereign user most of the time. Trying to run a horse farm there is never enough time in the field. My two favorite detectors are the Sovereign and Explorer and have friends using and own these detectors on my recommendations. There use to be a tradition of not smothering post of other units on a specific detector forum. Example I don't rat and rave about a Sovereign on the CZ forum. I hope the Equinox works out well, but people don't go on the Explorer forum to read about the Equinox. There was a cyber attack on Find's about three years ago using Mandarin and it had to be cleaned up or deleted, Gary up grade my status to Moderator to help clean the up the mess, there are people who are more experience with the Explorer on this forum than I Just thought I would chime in didn't want to upset anyone. HH.

Weight, no comparison.

I've never used the Explorer or Explorer II but I have good time on the Explorer SE Pro, E-Trac and the CTX.

I do believe the E-Trac & CTX are a tad better as far as depth but the Equinox is right there and fast as lightning. Close enough I sold all my other detectors and use only the EQ 800

Hey Ron! I have an Explorer SE with the Pro coil. I did buy an Equinox 600 but have not tried it yet. I can always get rid of it if I don't like it.

Ted, a couple days ago just got another Explorer SE , going to help a friend hit an old estate. The Explore and Sovereign should take care of finding those old lost coins and rings at the grounds. Again I hope the Equinox works out for the buyers and helps Minelab with sales. Thanks Ron
