Equinox 800 wireless headphones ?

How's the headphones fit that come with the 800 do they fit over the ear? My 800 will be here next week. And I was curious how the headphones fit. Thanks in advance for your all's thoughts.

I personally liked them. I got my machine fairly early and used them until we figured out the jack. Mine seems to have good volume and tone on targets...... didnt fall apart..... and were very comfortable.

No they press on your ears, the opening inside the headphones is only 2 inches tall by 1.3 inches wide. Sometimes I don't understand Minelab. (face palm)

After 5-6 hours my ears need a break from them. Sure wish Minelab would have made the ear openings a little larger.

Well thanks for your guys inputs. Typically I hunt 4-6 hours. Hopefully my ears will tolerate them I guess can fall back on the WM08 module and use a set of ear buds.

I feel the same

I find them hot and sweaty in the 90+ degree heat this summer in GA. I also find the high tones kind of muffled compared to other headphones I used before like the ones that came with the AT Pro.
I use the wm-08 with iPhone earphones (buds) and find them very good for my purpose.

The wm-08 sure give you a nice option on headphones and earbuds

To me they are nice and comfy.

I find them quite comfortable as well. I think it depends on head size/ear size. For me, they work well, but my ears are not large. There seems to be a wide range of opinion on the comfort of these headphones, and I think it is simply due to differences in "anatomy," from person to person...

Steve...... dont you feel the negativity about these phones comes a lot from knowing they arent very expensive? But they certainly can do the job IMO. As far as the use of ear buds or other more expensive phones....... at least you have the option.

I've never seen anyone wear any type of over ear phones more then 3 hrs straight, just don't happen. These feel cheap but work well, besides their wireless.

Not sure what you ment nagant? Are you talking about those ear buds that go over your ears........ or the muff type? I have to ask that because i spend at least 7 hours with my ears in the muffs several days a week. My small ears fit in there nicely.

Never in all my years working in loud job sites have i ever seen anyone keep hearing protection (head phone type) on more then 3 hours without a break. Not from the noise, just to get them off for awhile.

also found out that the wm-08 and wireless earphones don't work if you submerge your control head a few inches in the water. The connection drops out. Bummer.

I bought a used pair of $6.00 used Telex headphones and a Minelab adapter cable 3.5 mm waterproof hphone EQX #3011-0369 for about $40 us dollars. It has the water proof 1/8" connector for the control unit and 1/4" female plug for the headphones and I am all set up to use the WM-08 clipped to my upper shirt. I wade in lake beaches about 8" above my waist and the 800 is often fully submerged. I will test it out this week to see how this rig works.

I like the Telex headphones because they deliver very crisp audio. To me the 800 wireless earphones sound muffled. Might be some of my loss of hearing ranges, but the Telex headphones seem to bring back these higher tones to me.

I'm looking at the Anderson carbon fiber shaft for an Excal, if the diameter is right I could mount the Equinox control back way back by the arm cup. Might require a coil extension cord. If so for you the control box would be out of the water for lake hunting.
