Equinox 800 on silver

Not normally. The mix of frees helps to get greater depth in various conditions. I would not use the gold program as that skews frees towards low conductors

From Equinox 800 manual:
Using a single frequency may have a slight advantage over multi- frequency in certain detecting situations.
For example; if you were searching only for larger high conductive targets located at great depth, using 5 kHz may give an advantage. Similarly, if you were hunting only for very fine gold jewellery at a shallow depth, then 20 kHz* or 40 kHz* may give better results in some detecting environments, such as at a beach on the dry sand.

Only way to know for sure is to try it in your search conditions.

It may be worth a try also if you are dealing with EMI and have to lower the sensitivity in Multi frequency… you may be able to run a higher sensitivity setting in 5khz, although I have found that in this situation switching to a higher single frequency seems to give better results when around EMI.

When you get a signal in multi try the signal frequency also see how the signal is
