Epoxy

Epoxy is a very hard adhesive. It seems to me that if a person were to buy an epoxy kit, clean the bottom of their search coil and then mix-up the epoxy and apply it to the bottom of the coil, that the life of the coil would be extended and the coil protected from being abraded through.

Have any of you tried this?

I am NOT gonna do it...prolly ruin any resale value of the coil, and might even melt through the coil covering...

HH,

If you really want to protect the coil with something that can easily be removed, cut a disc the size of your coil out of plexiglass, and affix it with zip ties through drilled holes...
