Environmental Cover (Again) :help:

I know this question has been asked before and I have done a search for past topics that discussed this question and didn't come up with the answer I am looking for. Which "Environmental Cover" do you all prefer for your E-Trac and why. Which one(s) seem to fit poorly or are designed poorly? Thank you for your time.

I got one of the sunrays from detector depot and it seem to fit perfectly. I am happy with it so far.

Thanks Fellas

i was suppose to get a minelab cover with my e-trac but they were on back order. When it did get here weeks later it was so tight it would not fit at all! The dealer replaced it with a sun ray cover and that thing is the cat's a$$. you will love the sun ray cover guaranteed

So just to confirm - the Sunray E-Trac rain jacket fits better than the one from Minelab? I am getting an E-Trac soon and want to make sure I get a nice cover for it so that I need not worry about getting caught in the rain.

I got the impression by reading about both the Minelab and Sunray covers that the Minelab one was more or less a generic cover that fits the E-Trac, Explorer, and Safari while the Sunray cover was specific to the E-Trac, which might explain why it fits much better?

Hello, Does the Sunray cover cover the handle area just below the control box like the minelab cover does? I'm considering buying a newer cover. The minelab cover does fit. It just needs to be pulled down hard. Thanks, EddieB

Does anyone know the cost of the Sunray rain jacket for the E-Trac? And what dealers carry them? I am not seeing them listed as an accessory at some of the popular dealers.

I have the Minelab cover and didn't like it because of glare. I have been using the Invisible Shield on the face of my detector for about 18 months now and it is great. It will not scratch (I can wipe it with dirty gloves and it comes clean) and there are no glare issues at all. It doesn't give full coverage, but I don't hunt in the rain where I would think full coverage would be needed.

This is another alternative for you.

Where can the Invisible Shield be purchased?

You can get them at Zagg.com the site seems to be extremely busy right now :ranting: but it does still work.

Thanks for the tip! That does sound slick but my biggest concern is damage from the elements so I think I am best served with an environment cover. I live in Florida where a rainstorm can sneak up quickly, last for 10 minutes, then turn sunny and clear.

Hmmmmm....try this one:blink:Invisible shield for E-Trac
Link My links don't seem to be working copy and paste this address http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/minelab-e-trac-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php

Search on ZAGG Invisible Shield. You can order on line and delivery is pretty quick.
