Enjoyed a week on Singer Island

Just back this evening from vacation. Wife brought back a lot of shells and sea glass; I got a couple of goodies. All the local hunters I spoke with indicated that things got very sanded in since Hurricane Irene skirted the coast. Fortunately, not everything got buried so one sterling and one 14K ring came home with me from Florida.

Nice save's :detecting:

Very Nice Tvr, and you got in some rest! Much needed I know..................the excal or Cz?........joe

Thanks all.
Silver was with HH Pulse, gold was with Excal. Neither ring was deep; must have been fairly recent drops.

Was getting few target sound offs with the Excal in either PP mode or discriminate mode. The HH Pulse opened up a new stratum that was filled with many deep bottle caps that must have gotten drug down from the beach into the water. I'm guessing more good stuff was even deeper and beyond the PI's reach. Sand was soft and digging was fairly easy even in the shell lines.

Got about 20 total hours with the Excal and 10 hours with the HH Pulse. To get an idea of how scarce the targets were, only dug 3 fishing hooks and 4 hair pins with the PI and walked away from 4 very definite long double blips on one axis and solid on the other. That hair pin count would come in less than an hour most places I've hunted with a PI.

A relaxing week.

WTG........ if you were hunting in the surf your a brave soul....... The water on the Island was rough this week. Knocked me down twice and about stole my scoop.
I don't know which beach you were hunting but the last resort to the north ended up with 15 extra inches of sand from Irene judging from the turtle nest sticks.
Again Congrats.

Thanks.
I use boogie board leashes to keep the water from stealing scoops (and detectors); although sometimes that may add to the bruises on my shins from the scoop. We stayed at Palm Beach Shores resort and hunted there and at Juno beach, Delray beach and Deerfield beach.
The tan is starting to fade already!

Hope the sand moves out and you find some good targets!
