Enhance or modify tones

Picked up a Sovereign Elite yesterday.I took it out for a run today and found the tones are so smilier that it's almost impossible to tell them apart. I would think someone has a mod to enhance or change the tones.The 550 meter is not stable. Anyway to overcome these problems?

yes I know on the original sov., you can change the tones.But are you using good quality headphones? If not I suggest that you do before you open your tector up.

you can change the tones on the Elite and GT too to give better seperation, but you need to open it up, the tone pot is the one nearest to the control knobs

you are very helpful and can't thank U enough. I was wondering when I turn the pot will it make the tones change so I can separate them better?

On the 3 that i have adjusted, an xs2a pro, Elite and GT the low growl stays about the same but the higher tones get higher, in effect it streatches the range and to me makes IDing easier. If you decide to do it have a piece of silver, a piece foil and a nail, and pass them over the coil while adjusting so as to get tones to your liking and hearing
